Phil and Lynne Seymour: No consequences for Krauthammer

Charles Krauthammer is nothing if not consistent! The problem is that his criticism lacks consequences, while the actions of those he criticizes have real-world repercussions.
In addressing the turmoil in Russia, Syria and Gaza (“ Why Hillary got it right,” Aug. 15 column), he criticizes President Obama for what he considers insufficient action in these regions yet offers no viable solutions and ignores the “rule of unintended consequences” for any action a leader may take in these regions (remember Iraq?). Nor do real people die as a result of his criticism, yet the president lives with human beings dying, both Americans and others, as a result of his decisions. Commit troops and some may die; withhold troops and others may die.
Krauthammer ignores this fact but still deigns to criticize. Can he be at all objective? Hardly! At least give Obama credit for something he did right – like not invading a country that had not attacked us on 9/11!
Krauthammer can criticize the president, but Obama is the one who is actually in the arena having to make policy decisions daily. Krauthammer is merely a partisan Friday morning quarterback!
