Carolina Russell: Majority speaks

Regarding the Aug. 21 news article “ Fracking opponents speak out”: I know that the protesters at the McKimmon Center were not a small microcosm of North Carolinians. Mining and Energy Commission Chair Vikram Rao would meet the majority who agree with them if he spoke with our beautiful state’s residents, or if he spoke with the researchers at Duke who recognize the grave danger fracking brings to North Carolina.

The proponents of fracking seem to be people in the fossil-fuel industry and our legislators. But many of those pro-fracking representatives and senators will be gone soon. But sadly, the fracking will still be here.
