I identified with Sarah Nagem’s Aug. 22 column “ Hope after the grip of depression” and appreciate her willingness to write openly about her depression and attempted suicide.
Being bipolar, I can relate to her story that so well describes the depth of depression that can get a grip on me and last a few days or a few months. A good support system of family and friends is essential in my life, and I am grateful for them.
The tragic death of Robin Williams reminded me how vulnerable we are to the everyday stresses of life.
Never miss a local story.
