Regarding the Sept. 9 news article “ $1.5M Cats scoreboard on deck”: Wake County needs to spend $1.5 million to replace a 12-year-old scoreboard because it’s obsolete and parts are no longer available?
I’d like to suggest Wake County look to Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs. Parts are readily available for Wrigley’s manual scoreboard with hand-turned numbers, built in 1937.
The Mudcats say they need a new scoreboard to stay competitive. The Cubs ... never mind.
