Regarding the Sept. 9 news article “ Teacher: School like concentration camp”: We are completely puzzled as to why Fuquay-Varina High School biology teacher Ray Fournier chooses to teach in public schools, which he compares to Nazi death camps.
We are even more mystified that Wake County continues to employ a person whose main objective appears to be proselytizing rather than imparting scientific knowledge. We send our children to public schools in the expectation that they actually learn biology, chemistry, physics, math, English, history, foreign languages. If we want them to have a religious-based education, we have the choice of Christian academies, or Catholic, Jewish, Hindu and Muslim institutions.
Our children deserve better. So do we.
