Regarding the Oct. 8 news article “Kay Hagan, Thom Tillis pull no punches in second debate”: For conservatives, this is the most important election in our lifetimes. As egregious as we feel we have been treated by the establishment over the past many years, we must stand firmly with House Speaker Thom Tills.
Reading Michelle Obama’s comments about the fact that she will not support Democrats in her own party who did not support her school lunch program, I am reminded about the trouble absolutism can create for causes.
We conservatives cannot allow the destruction of our country to occur because we disagree with one part or another of one of our candidate’s ideas. This said, we must go to the polls and vote for Tillis. This is not believed with hesitation, as I had doubts as many do about Tillis’ conviction to conservative principles. I feared he would cave on principle and not be a warrior, but he is warrior enough to stand with us on most of our principles and far greater than President Obama’s pawn Kay Hagan.
As William F. Buckley Jr. said, we must “stand athwart history and yell stop,” and a vote for Tillis is standing athwart Obama and yelling stop.
