Regarding the Oct. 22 Under the Dome item “ Berger proposes an out on gay weddings”: How does Senate leader Phil Berger propose to introduce a bill to protect the jobs of magistrates who refuse to officiate at same-sex marriages? Aren’t magistrates paid with public tax dollars? It is a civic position, not a religious calling. If those legal marriages offend any magistrates, perhaps they are in the wrong jobs to begin with.
