Regarding the Nov. 24 news article “ Boy with fake gun dies after shot by officer”: I have heard one too many stories of kids being shot by police for having a fake gun. The orange safety cap that had apparently been removed can be blamed for these deaths.
Toy gun companies need to produce an orange safety indicator that cannot be removed. Removing the safety indicator puts others in danger as well as the owner in danger of police mistaking it for a real weapon.
If these toy companies regulated the sale and use of these toy guns we would not have to ask these questions.
