Regarding the Dec. 8 news article “ Raleigh losing affordability”: I am 61 years old. I have a four-year college degree and a three-year, post-graduate degree. I earn a good salary. I do not think I am making an “unfair” (high) amount of money.
The Josserands need to make their way, as the rest of us have. From your article, it sounds like I am already subsidizing their housing. Pity they can’t afford to live downtown.
I can’t afford to live in the McMansions going up where I live in North Hills. My secretary lives in Smithfield because she can get more house in Smithfield than in Raleigh. She does not feel “disadvantaged.”
Please get off the redistribution of wealth bandwagon. It is redistributed plenty as it is.
Never miss a local story.
