Regarding the Dec. 7 news article “Pearl Harbor memorial suffers neglect”: From the rusting USS Arizona, to substandard maintenance, to the sale of tickets in full view of U.S. park rangers, how could things get worse?
Well, by leaving Park Superintendent Paul DePrey in charge with the attitude that he and his department are “being realistic that these things will happen from time to time.” Then the worst is yet to come.
Someone in authority needs to make the necessary changes to put this memorial back to pristine condition.
