Reading between the lines Trump’s comments on the New York bomber imply a suspension of the Constitution, a police state and an escalation of war. He did stop short of saying how he would pay for the escalation or defining what exactly he would propose. He went on to once again describe our police and military as weak and afraid.
We keep hearing the Republicans insist that we cannot fight terrorism without uttering the words “Radical Islamic Terrorism.” They fail to understand that branding an entire religion as our enemy is exactly what ISIS wants. It legitimizes ISIS as a representative of the religion when they are just a bunch of thugs. That approach demonizes all Muslims. They don’t understand that ISIS is using Trump as a very effective recruiting tool to begin the Holy War they want so badly.
That foolish approach will take us and the world into an endless war, and our economy will once again take a significant hit. As we see more and more incidents of domestic terrorism, I believe that is at least partly because of Donald Trump’s words. If he is elected, the number will increase dramatically.
