I moved to North Carolina in 1995. From 1995 to 2010, the Democrats had complete control of the state government. The Democrats had complete control of state government for 100 years, except for two times when a Republican governor was elected.
Given these facts, I would ask anyone who’s considering voting for Democrats in this year’s election to consider the following:
▪ Teacher pay during Democratic control has historically been near the bottom nationwide. Clearly Democrats have dictated state teacher pay.
▪ For those concerned about the environment, all of the coal-ash pits that Duke Energy has were created while Democrats controlled state government.
▪ Considering the minimum wage, why didn’t the Democrats ever increase the state minimum wage above the federal minimum wage? There was nothing to stop them.
▪ Considering health care, why didn’t the Democrats provide universal health care coverage for all state residents, like Massachusetts did under a Republican government?
