I have been following presidential campaigns since Kennedy-Nixon in 1960 and like many folks, have never seen one like we are experiencing this year. It is sad when school children can’t even watch the debates for civics class due to the content of these debates.
The most troubling aspect of this campaign season is not the rhetoric or the sexual connotations, but the fact that we have a foreign government, Russia, trying to influence our political process through WikiLeaks. It is interesting that the only information being leaked is from the DNC and the Hillary Clinton campaign and nothing from the RNC and Donald Trump’s elusive tax returns.
The real problem is why there is not condemnation from both parties and all across the entire political spectrum that a foreign government is involved in this election. We see many on the right, who refer to themselves as patriots, are actually reveling in this.
I wonder if those on the right would be outraged if the tables were turned.
