The April 22 letter “Not about freedom” indicated the writer’s lack of understanding concerning a woman’s need for an abortion. He obviously has led a protected life and has never had to make a “life or death” choice.
To belittle women by believing a woman makes this decision for “mere convenience” is astounding. An abortion is not lightly undertaken as it is gut-wrenching; however, a woman is capable of making this choice on her own with the advice of her doctor.
People like the writer need to keep their religious beliefs in their own church and not pass judgment on others. As for Mother Teresa, she worked for others having more children despite the starvation surrounding their environs.
