Immigrants here illegally now want to further extend their illegality by obtaining a driver’s license.
In the Aug. 12 Point of View “Less fear, more safety in N.C. with license law” an undocumented immigrant stated that she is “breaking the law because I’m driving without a driver’s license.” The fact that she’s breaking the law every day she is standing on American soil has long been forgotten. Now an entitlement mentality has replaced any trace of the shame, guilt and fear that any chronic lawbreaker should be feeling.
“For me and the roughly 100,000 undocumented drivers in North Carolina, having a driver’s license would be a relief,” she said.
The “relief” would be that she follow the law, go back to wherever she illegally came from, get in line and follow the legal steps that decent immigrants have used to enter the United States for the last few hundred years.
She stated she wants to “follow the laws of the state.” It’s a truly amazing quote. We can’t make this stuff up.
