I am a millennial who, like many, was pretty adamant about voting for neither Hillary Clinton nor Donald Trump. My vision of the future has no place for a bombastic hypocrite or an entitled elite as president. I was set on playing the conscientious objector card and leaving the POTUS portion of my ballot blank.
However, with the madness that has infested the United Kingdom and the United States, I’ve had a change of heart. I’ve decided that I will vote against Trump even if that means checking the box next to Clinton.
While a Bernie Sanders ticket would have meant the possibility of a brighter future, a Trump presidency would certainly lead to a dark future controlled by the anti-intellectual masses. A Clinton ticket would merely maintain the bleak corporate-controlled future.
I do this not for myself or my ideologies but for my daughter. How can I seriously consider risking that her future will be made up of fear, isolationism and the rejection of science/knowledge? I am horrified by the thought of her growing up in a world controlled by a lying, racist coward.
Never miss a local story.
What we are voting for is what future we want our children to grow up in. It is time to wake up.
