Happenin' Hillsborough

As I near graduation at N.C. State University, I can proudly say I've had only a few regrets during my time here. One of these is Hillsborough Street.

As I read your April 22 story on Western Lanes and Theresa Fenner, I regret that Hillsborough Street was not being the happenin' hub that it was when my dad and cousins came here pre-Y2K.

Fenner, Western Lanes and Mitch's Tavern are three of just a handful of things that still give Hillsborough Street some character.

As Raleigh moves to put in roundabouts and other new fixtures, may it also do all it can to keep these traditions going.
