Regarding your July 15 article "Bio lab backers seek cash for PR":

Excuse me, but who are the Einsteins who selected Butner as a viable location for a bio-tech lab that would house dangerous viruses, with "only 10 percent animal viruses that have no cure"?

Did they select a site that was sparsely populated, away from a major watershed and whose upwind neighbors were not critical to our national defense?

No way! Let's play Russian roulette and put the lab on a major interstate artery (I-85) in an area projected for rapid growth, in the Falls Lake watershed (our precious water) and on a typical weather track toward our nation's capital, Washington, D.C.

While our local academicians are clamoring for all the prestige, jobs and technology the lab might bring, they should wise up to the ramifications of opening this pandora's box.
