The U.S. Army Life Cycle Management Command, formerly Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, is headquartered in Warren, Mich., for a reason! Working closely with U.S. automobile, truck and other manufacturers, LCMC "generates, provides, and sustains mobility, lethality, and survivability for soldiers, other U.S. armed services, and allies -- all to ensure United States Army readiness."

It was a design team at Chrysler that designed the XM1 Abrams Tank and, speaking as a veteran and avid Ford fan, when I send my children and grandchildren into battle, I prefer the tank or other combat vehicle protecting them be designed and built by Americans in factories with the proven ability to meet the challenge.

Let's exhaust all other possibilities before experimenting with our national security by outsourcing this critical capability to Honda, Toyota, etc. Help the auto industry fix the problems. Don't kick them out of the country.
