Now that NASCAR has glorified the exploits of yesteryear's runners of moonshine ("NASCAR takes a ride back in time," Oct. 19 Sports section article), you can do the same for today's drug runners. Junior Johnson and his fellow moonshine runners are not "American heroes" -- rather, "American outlaws" who should be reviled not revered.
Who's to say that 50 years from now NASCAR won't be inducting into its Hall of Shame drug traffickers who run illegal drugs from here in North Carolina to its cities like these good ole boys.
