A second self-addressed, prewritten, postage-paid card addressed to U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan has appeared in my mail. I sent it on, as I did the first one.
With a few editorial cross-outs and additions it now reads as follows: "Senator Hagan, Please support Leader Reid's plan. We can meet our health care challenges without putting government in unfair competition with the private sector. Tell Senate leaders that your North Carolina constituents need and want government-run health insurance that fairly competes with NCBCBS, a monopoly, run by [Bob] Grecyzn and [Jeffrey] Houpt."
Will Blue Cross and Blue Shield ever learn that it has enjoyed its near monopoly status by good behavior (including acting as third-party conduit for government-run insurance programs in this state), but that this status is no longer deserved?
