Regarding your May 23 story "Easley: Wright should quit":
I am ashamed to have a governor proclaim a man's guilt, in public, prior to his indictment, much less conviction.
This type of public rebuke is part of the problem with our current legal system. How can Rep. Thomas Wright have a fair trial when the governor of North Carolina has publicly stated that the evidence points to guilt?
Thank you, Gov. Easley (and Lt. Gov. Beverly Perdue) for planting the seed of doubt to settle the question in any potential juror's mind.
