As a 35-year subscriber to The N&O and as one essentially satisfied with the fairness of its news presentation, I was very dismayed and even horrified to read your Feb. 25 article "Pedestrian had alcohol in blood; The medical examiner's finding doesn't derail efforts to make Chapel Hill roads safer."

The headline was sensational, more like what one would find in a tabloid rather than in your newspaper. The report itself seemed to blame the victims of the accidents that resulted in their deaths. The headline and innuendos were reprehensible. The families and friends of the men who died have suffered enough without you adding to their grief. I believe you owe them an apology.
