On most Saturdays, Betty Mangum lets others cook her meals or she goes out to eat. That’s because during her 6:30 to 2:30 weekday shifts when the General Assembly is in session, she helps feed about 800 customers a day. Before the lunch rush, which starts at 11 a.m., she helps to create 10 different salad dishes which are snatched up by hungry legislative workers between noon and 1 p.m. each day. The Legislative Cafeteria is in the basement of the General Assembly building on West Jones Street. It is open to the public.
