| On most Saturdays, Betty Mangum lets others cook her meals or she goes out to eat. That’s because during her 6:30 to 2:30 weekday shifts when the General Assembly is in session, she helps feed about 800 customers a day. Before the lunch rush, which starts at 11 a.m., she helps to create 10 different salad dishes which are snatched up by hungry legislative workers between noon and 1 p.m. each day. The Legislative Cafeteria is in the basement of the General Assembly building on West Jones Street. It is open to the public. | ||

| "Jones Street" follows the people, activities and events that revolve around the General Assembly while it is in session in the Legislative Building on Jones Street in Raleigh. These pictures tell stories that happen outside the Senate and House chambers. |
