Will Polk, director of victim's and citizen's services at the N.C. Department of Justice, listens as closing remarks are made at a sexual assault awareness rally. April was sexual assault awareness month in North Carolina. Interact and the N.C. Coalition Against Sexual Assault held a rally at the Legislative Building in downtown Raleigh on Thursday. Displayed in front of the podium, a youth group's collage of random photographs cut from magazines illustrates a troubling rape statistic. Speakers at the event talked about the importance of programs on sexual assault and urged outreach programs for victims of assault.
