Rep. Verla Insko looks at a photo of herself on Changcheng Zhang's cell phone as she poses for another with Jifeng Lin in the House chambers.

A Chinese delegation spending three weeks at Duke for a workshop on population issues got a glimpse of the House chambers as part of a General Assembly tour hosted by Insko, a Chapel Hill Democrat and member of the state's Commission on Aging. Insko was in good company: Zhang and Lin are officers with China's Commission of Population and Family Planning. While in North Carolina they are also studying the state's long-term care services and policies for people who are aging.
