Motorcyclists Bob Coppola, left, Roger Boger, Teresa Boger and Austin Nichols introduce themselves to Sen. Eddie Goodall, second from right. Nearly 100 North Carolina bikers went to the General Assembly on Wednesday for the annual lobby day of the Concerned Bikers Association. Many of the bikers asked lawmakers to repeal the state's helmet law. "We are basically here for our personal freedoms," said Sue Everhart of Lexington. "Any legislation that limits what a person can do is encroaching on my personal freedom." There was no parade of motorcycles; the cold weather forced most of the bikers to drive their cars.
