The weeks of promises, endorsements, charges, countercharges and name-calling all come down to this: It's primary day in North Carolina. Here's what you need to vote today:

AVOID THE LINES

The busiest times are expected to be from 6:30 to 9 a.m., about noon and from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Extra staff members are expected to be on hand.

"We have lots of ballots that we will not run out of," said Cherie Poucher, director of the Wake Board of Elections. "Just be patient."
