NOTEWORTHY: The filings in the appellate court race signal that it could become a competitive judicial race. McCullough, a former federal prosecutor and former counsel to the Senate Ethics Committee, is seeking a second eight-year term with the state's second highest court. He will face Beasley, a District Court judge from Fayetteville for the past nine years and a former public defender.
