Four week-old Triangle startups are about to get for free what many long-in-the-tooth businesses can't afford: national exposure.
NBC is scheduled to air stories about them across its portfolio of channels, beginning this morning. NBC sent a crew to Raleigh last weekend to follow RTP Start-up Weekend, a program that helps entrepreneurs conceive and birth businesses in 54 hours.
Participants have kept busy all week improving their Web-based businesses, and the crew has kept them apprised of air times via Twitter, an online communications tool. At last word, the first segment is to air 10:30 a.m. today on CNBC and again about 4:30 p.m., provided breaking news doesn't interrupt the schedule.
Also look for a segment about 7:30 a.m. Saturday on the Today show and on a weekend broadcast of NBC Nightly News.
