The gas-tax song

Regarding the July 20 article "Gas tax pause fizzled over job losses": Well, well, our Democratic-controlled Congress and Senate are considering raising our federal gas tax by 10 cents a gallon and our diesel fuel tax by 24 cents a gallon. Hmm, lower our income taxes as Barack Obama promises and then take it away with higher gas taxes.

Have they ever considered cleaning house and seeing where tax money is being squandered? The American middle class is on the verge of collapse, and our government is playing the fiddle as we suffer.
