Not deputy's fault

Regarding the July 23 article "Mom arrested, kids left": I was disappointed in the tone of the story regarding the arrest of an illegal alien mother in Alamance County. The article seemed to suggest that it was the fault of the Alamance County Sheriff's Department that the children of an illegal alien were left on the side of the road for several hours. The reality is that the responsibility rests squarely on the shoulders of the mother who was illegally present in this country. The sheriffs were merely doing their jobs and deserve commendation.

I hope that more North Carolina counties will continue to sign up for 287(g) and enforce our immigration laws since U.S. Reps. Brad Miller and David Price don't think it's a good idea.
