Regarding your Sept. 4 article "Palin paints herself as a hard-hitting outsider":It sure makes a fellow proud to see a (self-described) lipsticked Alaskan pit bull elevating the public discourse by misrepresenting, denigrating, slandering and outright lying about her opponents. And the assembled thousands, on their feet and cheering the self-righteous, smirky behavior that they wouldn't tolerate anywhere except at a political meeting. Oh, and in church, of course.The vice presidency of the United States is one thing, but I awoke in a sweat last night after dreaming that Sarah Palin was a member of my homeowners' association.Buck Horton, Durham
