Nila Williams, director of customer relations and global training at Clinsys Clinical Research in Raleigh, was selected as one of the 100 Most Inspiring People in the life-sciences industry in 2008 by the readers of PharmaVoice magazine.

Jennings, a Chapel Hill branding and advertising agency, was recognized with six awards at the 2008 Videographer Awards. The international competition recognizes outstanding achievement in video production.

Moore & Van Allen was named a Go-To Law Firm for technology in American Lawyer Media's Corporate Counsel magazine. Nominees are chosen from a national survey of general counsel from the leading technology companies, coupled with research and analysis of public filings and resources.

McAngus Goudelock & Courie, which has an office in Raleigh, has been recognized as a Law Office Climate Challenge Partner by the American Bar Association and the Environmental Protection Agency. To be recognized as a partner, a law firm must use ABA's best paper practices for office paper management and submit its goals to the EPA's WasteWise program, detailing its waste reduction program for the next year.

The former N.C. Mutual Life building near downtown Durham, now known as Legacy Tower, received a landscaping overhaul this spring and was honored at the 2008 Golden Leaf Awards with the Award of Merit. Bland Landscaping Co. worked on the building's exterior grounds and patio.

Jessica Sepke, director of technology at Saint Mary's School in Raleigh, was selected for the Lenovo ThinkTank Award, which recognizes personal and institutional achievements in enhancing teaching and learning through the innovative use of technology. Each year, the ThinkTank Award winner is selected from more than 500 institutions in 23 countries.

Barrett L. Kays, a consulting soil scientist at Landis in Raleigh, will receive the Professional Service Award from the Soil Science Society of America at its annual meeting in Houston in October. The award is given as recognition for his support of the profession.

Angie Barr, administrator of Britthaven Northchase in Wilmington, has been chosen by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living as a future leader in long-term care. She attended the Future Leaders of Long Term Care in America symposium, which offers training and guidance for professionals who have demonstrated leadership potential.

Brian Boezi of Apex was recognized by Kawasaki Engines and Power Products as one of the country's top salespeople at Kawasaki's annual district managers meeting in Grand Rapids, Mich. Boezi won three of the 12 awards presented at the meeting, including Highest Number of Participating Dealers, 2008 Spring Retail Program, Highest Number of Units Booked, Power Products and Highest Number of New Power Products Dealers 2007.

Jay Bigelow, president of Micromass Communications in Cary, has been selected by PharmaVoice magazine as one of the 100 most inspiring and influential people in the life-sciences industry.

Bob Daniels, owner of ServiceMaster of Wake County, won the Achiever, Expert and Excellence Awards at the ServiceMaster Clean International Convention in Orlando, Fla.

Linda Dudish, owner of Inviting Impression Home Staging and Redesign in Raleigh, earned her Redesign, Redecorating and Home Staging Certification from Mary Larsen Designs.

Mayrant Simons Jr. of RTI International was honored with the 2008 Radiation Effects Award by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society. Simons was recognized for his contributions to radiation effects research associated with hardened systems for space applications. Kenneth J. Rothman, vice president for epidemiology research in the health-solutions business unit, has been named an RTI International distinguished fellow for his long-term contributions to the fields of public health and epidemiology.
