HERITAGE DAY CELEBRATES AGRICULTURAL, RURAL HISTORY

Wake County Heritage Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Historic Oak View County Park, 4028 Carya Drive, Raleigh.

The event, a celebration of Wake County's agricultural and rural history, includes live entertainment, heritage crafts, re-enactors, hayrides, historic farm equipment, cane pole fishing and live animals. A quilt auction with a professional auctioneer will be held at 2 p.m.

The event is sponsored by Historic Oak View and Wake County Cooperative Extension. The park is in the Wake County Office Park on Carya Drive just east of the Poole Road exit from the I-440 Beltline.
