Regarding your April 29 article "Left in the drain: trust, respect":
Though it wasn't surprising to read Rodger Koopman's comments regarding the failed attempt to ban garbage disposals, it was no less appalling. Clearly the "dead wood" Koopman referred to is on the City Council and includes himself.
If Koopman doesn't have enough information from city staff prior to voting on an issue, perhaps he should request it. Voting with minimal knowledge is irresponsible and unfair to the citizens of Raleigh, not to mention to city staff members who seem to be taking the blame for his inadequacies.
If Koopman doesn't have time to educate himself on the issues -- as he himself claimed -- he clearly doesn't belong on the City Council.
