Trailers and taxes

Gray Styers' July 8 Point of View article about funding for schools was balanced and thought-provoking. It reminded me that 14 years ago when we transferred in from the Northeast, my first question to a neighbor was, "What on earth are all of those trailers in the schoolyard?" She was embarrassed to answer, and now I am embarrassed when asked that question.

Spending is always a matter of priorities, but it is tragic that lower taxes trump an educated work force.
