Tema Okun's Aug. 22 Point of View article "While pandering persists, withhold votes" was a bright light in this awful situation. I cannot believe this attitude by Democrats. Banning immigrants who want to further their educations is a shameful situation. How can anyone be proud of our leaders who act in such an inhumane way?I, too, shall not contribute or vote for any candidate who espouses this view. I would like to get Okun's letter stating her intention, both to sign myself and to circulate for signatures of enlightened people in my community.Judith Butt, Pittsboro
