In your July 13 Tar Heel of the Week article, the freshly appointed ambassador to the Netherlands, Jim Culbertson, said in reference to individuals giving large sums of money to political candidates, "Others will say, if they do get elected it would be nice if I got to do such and such. You want to factor that in. There's nothing wrong with that."

Please count me as one citizen who does find many things wrong with that.
