CLINTON, S.C. - S.J. Worrell ran for 107 yards and two touchdowns, and a late fumble helped Presbyterian hold off an N.C. Central rally to win 28-24 on Saturday.

The Blue Hose (3-4) jumped to a 28-10 lead with 3:21 left in the third quarter when Brandon Miley threw a 44-yard touchdown pass to Sam Wilson, who finished with 60 yards receiving.

N.C. Central (1-5) answered with Michael Johnson's 52-yard passing score to Will Scott in the third period to cut the margin to 28-17 with 1:20 remaining in the quarter.

The 63-yard drive took just four plays and 2:01 off the clock, breathing new life into the Eagles.

With 5:42 left in the fourth quarter, NCCU began a 66-yard drive that made it close.

Johnson completed a 34-yard pass to Deshawn Spears on the drive's second play, moving the ball to the Presbyterian 30.

After a 6-yard run, Johnson found Wayne Blackwell on a 24-yard scoring strike, cutting the Eagles' deficit to four points with 3:54 left in the game.

The Eagles got the ball back with 2:07 remaining in the game and had a chance to win, but Johnson fumbled at the 1-yard line as a Blue Hose defender recovered to help Presbyterian hold on to the win.

Johnson completed eight of nine passes for 159 yards for NCCU, while Tony McCord rushed for 80 yards on 13 carries.
