Gettysburg National Military Park The Gettysburg Foundation will operate the museum and visitors center for 20 years and then turn it over to the National Park Service, according to Dru Anne Neil, director of communications and marketing for the Foundation.
The museum and visitors center are open daily, except on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in spring and fall, until 7 p.m. in summer, and 5 p.m. in winter.
Entrance to the museum is free. Timed tickets to the 22-minute "A New Birth of Freedom" are $8 for those 13 and older, $6.50 for those ages 6 to 12, free for children 5 and younger. The cyclorama is scheduled to reopen Sept. 26. Then, combined admission to the museum's feature film and this vast painting will be $12 for 13 and older, $10 for children 6-12, and free for those 5 and younger.
The museum and visitors center, which includes a bookstore and large restaurant, are wheelchair accessible.
