Police are looking for rape suspect

DURHAM - Police are trying to locate Fredy Lopez Hernandez, 24, charged with statutory rape, taking indecent liberties with a minor, first-degree kidnapping, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and sexual battery.

Police said that the assault took place in February on South Alston Avenue and that Hernandez and the girl know each other.

Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to contact investigator J.J. Locklear at 560-4440, ext. 229, or CrimeStoppers, which pays cash for anonymous tips leading to arrests in felony cases, at 683-1200.
