Seven at UNC-CH receive awards

CHAPEL HILL -- Seven UNC-Chapel Hill employees have been recognized for their contributions -- five receiving the Chancellor's Awards for Excellence and two, the Excellence in Management Awards.

Chancellor's Award recipients are: Angkana Bode of Raleigh, facility architect in Facilities Services; Betty Brown of Elon, acting director of outreach programs at the Morehead Planetarium and Science Center; Virginia Carson of Chapel Hill, director of the Campus Y; Bruce Egan of Chapel Hill, manager of the Information Technology Services Response Center; and Donna Redmon of Graham, associate registrar.

The Chancellor's Awards were established in 1991 by Chancellor Emeritus Paul Hardin. Recipients get $1,000, a special leave award of 24 hours and a framed certificate, presented by Chancellor James Moeser.

Winners of the Excellence in Management Awards are Joe Bray of Carrboro, applications specialist with ITS; and Evelyn "Evie" McKee of Graham, business manager in the School of Public Health's department of biostatistics. Recipients get $500 and a framed certificate.
