WORK OF CAROLINA FOR KIBERA RECOGNIZED: Carolina for Kibera, a nonprofit organization with a mission to fight poverty and help prevent violence in the slum of Kibera outside Nairobi, Kenya, was recently awarded the Oklahoma City National Memorial Foundation 2008 Reflections of Hope Award. The award was presented this month to U.S. Marine Capt. Rye Barcott, who founded the organization, and Salim Mohamed, the Kenya-based executive director.
