RALEIGH - Charles I. Bunn Jr., an accounting instructor in Wake Tech's business education division, has been named Outstanding Educator by the N.C. Association of Certified Public Accountants, according to a news release from the college Monday.

The honor has historically been awarded to a university professor; this is the first time a community college instructor has received it, the news release said.

The association presented Bunn a plaque at its awards dinner last week in Greensboro. The award also includes a $1,000 prize.
