My husband and I attended the Jefferson-Jackson Day dinner. We have been excited that we have chance to vote for our candidate, Sen. Hillary Clinton in primary. Both of the Democratic candidates for governor have endorsed Sen. Barack Obama, but we listened respectfully. None of the many hundreds of Hillary supporters booed.

We were appalled when the raucous supporters of Obama booed Governor Easley, who has endorsed Clinton. We have heard that Obama is proud that he has brought many new voters into the party. Based on what we saw, we would suggest that those voters need to realize that should their candidate win the nomination he will need the Clinton supporters in order to win in a general election.

Obama claims that he can unite the country. Based on what we saw, we have doubts about his efforts on that issue.
