Midwest Airlines will end the only two daily nonstop flights between Raleigh-Durham International Airport and Milwaukee in September, the latest in a series of airline cuts at RDU.Midwest blamed surging fuel costs for the changes, which are part of a larger schedule reduction by the airline. Midwest stopped service at RDU after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks but restarted flights last year, said RDU spokeswoman Mindy Hamlin.Midwest will end its two nonstop flights from RDU to Milwaukee on Sept. 8. Local passengers can still reach that city on other airlines but will need to make connections. By October, airlines will have eliminated 39 flights at RDU.
