The 19th annual Jack Ratz Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament is set for Aug. 4-5 at Wildwood Green Golf Club in Raleigh. The tournament is open to male and female golfers ages 6 to 18.

Jack Jr. was a member of Wildwood Green and a freshman at Cardinal Gibbons High School when he died in a car accident at age 15. His family will donate $1,000 to his memorial scholarship fund in the names of the tournament flight champions.

The theme of this event is to encourage teen driver safety and to highlight the effects of careless behavior.

The tournament is sanctioned by the Triangle Junior Golf Association as a qualifying event. In 2007, 93 junior golfers participated. The entry fee for the two-day tournament is $85, which includes a full practice round the week before the tournament.

Your entry form and entry fee must be received at Wildwood Green by July 28. Call 846-8376 for more information.
