STUDENT: Zachariah Claypole White, seventh grade

SCHOOL: Camelot Academy, Durham

ACHIEVEMENT: Zachariah is a winner in the Gilbert-Chappell Distinguished Poet Series. The series, created in 2003 by the N.C. Poetry Society, pairs young writers with professional poets who act as mentors. Zachariah will be mentored by poet and novelist Anthony S. Abbott.
