Bring on the bacon

I am responding to the Aug. 27 letter "Bananas, not bacon," asserting that "for those ... seeking the truth ... fruit is the correct food for humans."

The writer's position is an opinion, not the "truth." She should look in a mirror. Are her eyes on the front of her head? Mine are. Do her front teeth taper to an edge? Mine do. Just like nearly every other apex predator on the planet.

The "truth" is that we are omnivores by design. Vegetarianism is her choice, and I respect that. I wish I could get the same from her.
